Early intervention to make non-extraction orthodontics possible

Presented by Dr. John Kaku

Thursday, 18 March 2021, 6.30pm – 7.30pm (Singapore Time) / 9.30pm – 10.30pm (AEDT)

Abstract

When seeking Orthodontic treatment, patients often ask “Do I need to remove my teeth to get an ideal smile?”

Adult patients with severe skeletal discrepancy may require not only tooth extraction but also surgical intervention to achieve the desired treatment outcome. Early detection and treatment of small problems may prevent such severe situations from developing. As such, early intervention is important to prevent an otherwise complicated case.

The timing in approaching young patients at different dentition stages have its own benefits and challenges in terms of success of treatment & scanning strategy. In this session, Dr Kaku will share key concepts and approaches for early intervention to make non-extraction treatment more successful. He will also talk about patient consultation as an integral part of starting the treatment.
